It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Tierney of Camp Springs, Maryland, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 7, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Tierney and Edith Tierney (Yarrington); and his siblings, Evelyn Cirillo, Vivian Cook, Bryan Tierney, Norman Tierney, Richard Tierney and Maurice Tierney.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Tierney; his children, Mary Saxe (Tim Good), Kathleen Antonelli (John), Ann Scheele (Patrick), Margaret Beling (Peter) and John Tierney, Jr. (Caroline); and his grandchildren, Matthew Antonelli (Caroline Casey), Kaitlyn Antonelli, Joseph Scheele, Emily Scheele, Andrew Beling, Elizabeth Beling, Rachel Beling, Connor Tierney and Marley Tierney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in John's name to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington or Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.
