He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Washington Adams and Anna Cannon Adams; his wife Betty Tieder; his son Roger Fountain Adams, Jr.; and his sisters, Ruth Ann LeCompte and Mildred Murphy.
He is survived by: his sons, J. Toby Adams of Cambridge and Mark D. Adams (Stacy Barnette) of Cambridge; his grandchildren, Katelyn Adams Lust (Jon), Kelsey Adams (Caleb Walker), Eric Stanley, Carson Adams, Lanai Etchison (Adam) and Logan Adams; his great grandchildren, Aiden and Evan Etchison; and his brother-in-law Reginald Murphy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
