He was predeceased by: his father Russell Winston Gravenor. He is survived by: his sons, Michael R. Gravenor (Susanne) of Pasadena and Merrill W. "M. J." Gravenor, Jr. of Salisbury; his grandchildren, Kaja Gravenor, Noah Gravenor and MaKayla Gravenor; and his former wife Mary Tippie Stokes. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
