The passing of John L. Simmons (Cambridge, Maryland) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 18, 2025 at the age of 79. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Bradley Simmons and John C. Simmons; his brother James Simmons (Jimmy); his godson Chuck Ruark; and his son-in-law Chris Sedwick.
He is survived by: his daughter Heather Sedwick; his siblings, Russell, Eddie, Sandy Simmons, Marie Ruark (Sonny), Barbara Willey, Carol Crue, Margaret Robinson and Lisa Blann; his godchildren, Dawn Rogers and Justin Aaron; and his cousin Glenna Toyne (Ruthin). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thomas Funeral Home (700 Locust St, Cambridge, MD 21613). A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery (6827 E New Market Ellwood Rd, Hurlock, MD 21643).
