He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Adkins and Grace Lewis Adkins; and his children, Barry Watson Adkins, Jr. and Barrilynn Adkins. He is survived by: his wife Frances Batchelor Adkins; his daughter Frances L. Adkins; his brother John Adkins; his niece Tammy Adkins; and his nephews, John Adkins, Jr. and Thomas Barry. He is also survived by three great nephews.
