He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alonzo Gilbert and Gladys Lindsay; his wife Ethellene McCormick Gilbert; his siblings, Virginia Hayden and Robert Gilbert; his children, Ronald Gilbert Jr. of Chestertown, MD and Shenika Parker (James) of Fayetteville, NC; his aunts, Rosetta Johnson and Bessie Simms of Kent County, MD; and his nieces and nephews, Michelle Brown Williams, Joy Brown Cowins, Glyniss Gilbert, Reginald Gilbert and Ernest Hayden. He was also cherished by parent, raising his two children on his own as a single father.
