She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph E. Herbert and Nellie Armstrong; her children, Hilda Herbert and Joseph Maddox; her husband John N. Maddox, Sr.; her grandchildren, Dennis Herbert, Mary D. Butler, James Butler, Jr. and Rodney Maddox; her great grandchild Antoine Bowman; her siblings, Etta Lynch, Louise Mason, Walter Herbert, Joseph Herbert and William Herbert; and her parents-in-law, Francis Bowman, Mary L. Maddox and James Herbert, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Mary Bowman, Patricia Butler (Al) and John N. Maddox, Jr. (Mary); her siblings, Theresa Rich (Elwood), George Herbert, Matilda Herbert and Cora Herbert; and her friends, Emily Armstrong, Catherine Butler, Margaret Williams, Dulce Ball, Dorothy Fenwick, Agnes Hagens and Frances Campbell. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-grandchildren.
