He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie M. Brandenburg and Louisa C. Bussard Brandenburg; his sister Jane Strite (Galen); and his brother-in-law J. B. Strite. He is survived by: his wife Mary Margaret Zecher Brandenburg; his children, Teresa Shafer (Denny) and Dwight Brandenburg (Rhonda) of Burkittsville; his grandchildren, Mark Brandenburg (Brandy), Crystal Renn (Danny), Bryan Shafer (Lisa), Brent Shafer (Dee), John Brandenburg (Katie) and Blake Brandenburg (Erika); and his great grandchildren, Emma, Connor, Brady, Jackson, Allie, Atley, Matthan, Asher, Cole, Olivia, Aubree, Ruby, Lily, Josiah, Brooke and Logan.
