He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Elwood and Ruby Light Proudfoot; his former wife JoAnna Mae Hawk; his children, Joetta Phillips (Richard), Lawrence Proudfoot Jr. (Carole), Sue Capper (Robert) and Jeffrey Guy Proudfoot; his grandchildren, Julie Karl (Erik), Richard Phillips (Cara), Lawrence Proudfoot III (Christine), Valerie Proudfoot, Bradley Proudfoot, Christa Hannon (Patrick), Jonathan Phillips, Anna Capper and Amanda Capper; his wife Helen Fry; and his stepchildren, Sandi Long (Gene), Nancy Hudson (James) and Charles Fry (Emily). He was also cherished by nine step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to First Baptist Church.
