He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lee Shorter and Fannie Margaret Hammett Shorter; his daughter Margaret Anne Cameron; and his siblings, Rose Saunders, Alice Henderson, Mae Thomas, Violet Purcell, John Shorter, Tom Shorter, Richard Shorter, Albert Shorter and Andrew Shorter.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret McLeod Shorter; his daughters, Alison Shorter-Lawrence (Richard), Cora Lynn Shorter McVey and Sandra Shorter Snyder (Mike); his son-in-law Steve Cameron; and his grandchildren, Rowan Harvey, Kathryn Lawrence, Kayla McVey and Jack Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, Valley Lee.
