He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lee Shorter and Fannie Margaret Hammett Shorter; his daughter Margaret Anne Cameron; and his siblings, Rose Saunders, Alice Henderson, Mae Thomas, Violet Purcell, John Shorter, Tom Shorter, Richard Shorter, Albert Shorter and Andrew Shorter.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret McLeod Shorter; his daughters, Alison Shorter-Lawrence (Richard), Cora Lynn Shorter McVey and Sandra Shorter Snyder (Mike); his son-in-law Steve Cameron; and his grandchildren, Rowan Harvey, Kathryn Lawrence, Kayla McVey and Jack Lawrence.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brinsfield Funeral Home (22955 Hollywood Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650). A prayer was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. George's Episcopal Church (19167 Poplar Hill Ln, Valley Lee, MD 20692). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. George's Episcopal Cemetery (19167 Poplar Hill Ln, Valley Lee, MD 20692).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, Valley Lee.
