With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Brinsfield Sands (Brooklyn Park, Maryland), born in Baltimore, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sands, Jr. and Margaret Sands; his wife JoAnn Sands; and his brother Richard Sands, III. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Sands (Neil), Deborah Sands-Barrett (John), Jamie Brooks, Wendey Monroe (Sonny), Ashley King (Casey), Ray Tolley (Brittney) and Christopher Tolley (Joe); and his siblings, Drema Walker (Larry) and Leroy Sands. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gonce Funeral Service (4001 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225).
In lieu of flowers, the family would thankfully accept donations to the funeral home to help with the funeral cost.
