He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Alexander Daniel; his parents, Laura Jean Whitten Daniel and Robert D. Daniel, Sr.; his granddaughter Laura M. Daniel; and his close friends, Robert "Bobby" Wright and Byron "Chubby" Empson.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Smith (Eric) of Frederick, MD, Robert D. Daniel III, David Brvenik (Debbie), Eddie Brvenik (Angie), Tracy Mathews (George) and Marie Triesky (Mike); his stepdaughter Marian Lavezzo (Lou); and his grandchildren, Chad Smith, Brandon Smith, Taylor Mathews, Hanna Mathews, Ashley Brvenik, Zachary Brvenik, Shawn Croissette (Emily), David Brvenik (Samantha), Kelly Brvenik and Melissa Daniel (David).
