She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gladys Charles and Clarence Pope; her children, Carl, Gladys Owen and Clarence Pope; her grandparents, Marshall and Geneva Charles; her siblings, Ronald L. Pope and Joan White (Lawrence); her niece Rhonda Gore (James); her great-nephew Kairi Gore; her former husband Harold Little, Sr.; and her great-aunt Tracey Charles. She was also cherished by cousins and friends.
After graduation, Joyce then went on to pursue her career working for the National Science Foundation, Pension and Benefits Guarantee Corporation, and later retiring from Washington Gas and Light Company in 2016.
