She was predeceased by: her parents, Ophelia Sykes and Freeman Sykes (Wayne County) of Goldsboro; her siblings, Nancy Baker (James), Margaret Sykes, Larcenia Wimbley (Geneva), Leeman Sykes, John Sykes, Willie Sykes, Nathaniel Sykes and Freeman Sykes Jr.; her son Leondra Sykes (Mable); and her grandchildren, Leondra Christopher Sykes and Cornelia Sykes Bennett (Cleve). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
