He is survived by: his wife Elvira Wise (Mickie); his children, Donald Thrower (Carla), Aaronese Taylor (Charles), Ronnette McDaniel, Christopher Monroe (Antoinette), Traci Richardson (Damon, Sr.), Cornell Smith, Jr. (Marche), James Bright, Jr. (Wanda), Tangela Nichols (Richard) and Leslie Bright; his brothers, Ronald Smith, Sr. (Aletre) and Vincent Smith, Sr. (Fernanda); his sister-in-law Mamie L. Smith; his nieces and nephews, Ronald Smith, Jr., Derek Smith, Bryan Marshall (Jami), Rhonda Desper (Albert), Byran Marshall, Vincent Smith, Jr., Steven Smith (April) and Lauren Smith; and his cousins, Eileen Evans and Donna Bailey.
