With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan A. Roberson (Bowie, Maryland), born in Washington, District of Columbia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 18, 2024 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her mother Anna Mae Chick; and her sons, Ralph Roberson, Jr. and Danny Roberson (Malinda). She is survived by: her brothers, Ray, Vince and Teddy; her children, Carolyn Johnson (Severn) and Gail Friend (Bruce); her grandchildren, Rene' Baker (Dave), Kelly Chwastyk (Matt), Tracy Freedman (Seth), Ashley Collins (Andrew), Stephanie Johnson-Rivero (Brett), William Archibald (Mike), Jessica Friend, Nicolai Friend and Kasey Roberson; and her great grandchildren, Picabo Baker, Collyer Baker, Caleb Chwastyk, Elijah Chwastyk, Matthias Chwastyk, Annemarie Chwastyk, Severn Freedman, Theodore Freedman, Olivia Collins, Evan Collins, Kaylee Chesnutt, Ashton McGhee-Rivero, Kaleb McGhee-Rivero and Sofia Rivero. She is also survived by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations (wreath sponsorships) can be made to Wreaths Across America for the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery where Joan enjoyed volunteering over the holidays.
