With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Hayden Melvin of Bowie, Maryland, born in Morristown, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 30, 2024 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayden Melvin and Helene Melvin. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Michelle Kotelchuck (Mason) and Mark Melvin (Pam); his grandchildren, Jacqueline De Puy (Joshua), Michael Melvin (Erika), Megan Kotelchuck, Stephen Melvin and Jake Kotelchuck; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron and Hayden; and his sister Martha Mellin (Don). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either of two organizations close to Dan's heart, which are Little Sisters of the Poor or The Longest Day Alzheimer's Association at 2024.
