He is survived by: his parents, Lee Roberts and Catherine Carter Pennington; his children, Catherine Pennington Paunov (Zlatko), Lee Roberts Pennington (Mary Ann), Walter Carter Pennington (Donna) and Marcia Pennington Shannon (Michael); his grandchildren, Meghan Ann Pennington, Caitlin Mary Pennington, Andrew Michael Pennington, William Donald Summers Pennington, Charlotte Angela Summers Pennington and Patrick Campbell Lewis Shannon; and also Naval Communications Officer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United States Navy Memorial Foundation.A visitation will be held at Pumphrey's Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 13.
