It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Frederick Rooney in Bethesda, Maryland, born in Orange, New Jersey, who passed away on December 2, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Patrick J. Rooney and Ruth Sophia Kull; his children, Patrick (Stacey) of Centerville, MD, Erin (Tim) of Glastonbury, CT, Michael (Kimberly) of Silver Spring, MD and Tara (Mark) of Darnestown, MD; his grandchildren, Haley, Jack, Michela, Aiden, Liam, Maggie, Seamus, Anna, Tara, William, Finnley, Conor, Abigail and Everett; and his sister Patricia McCormack of West Orange, NJ.
Above all else he loved God, his country, his family and friends – truly his "extended family. " Due to the current pandemic, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Bethesda, MD. Interment will also be private.
