He was predeceased by: his parents, Max and Phyllis; and his sister Marti Stern Bernstein. He is survived by: his wife Judy; and his children, Jared Stern (Andrea Klee) and Lauren Somers (Ira Somers). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren.
