He was predeceased by: his wife Georgia Ann Rasmussen; his children, Jane, Michael (Jane), Thomas, David, Gerald, Teresa, Peter (Michele), Martha, Mary (Charles Tapia) and Paul (Adele); and his brother David.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tenley Study Center.
