She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Gnanapragasam A. Amirthanayagam and Mary Teresa Sandrasagra; her husband Joe Bastiampillai; and her brother Guy Amirthanayagam. She is survived by: her children, Nimmi Balasandiran (Emil), Chemi Cherubim (Prasanth) and Harisha Bastiampillai; her grandchildren, Anne-Marie Vanniasinkam (Indhiran), Tony Balasandiran, Lisa-Marie Balasandiran, Pravin Cherubim (Shaari), Shanik Cherubim (Gisele), Shyara Cherubim, Milan Bastiampillai, Gigi of Jehan, Roshan, Yasmine, Avery and Alfie; and her siblings, Annette Rambukwelle, Gratien Amirthanayagam and Rohini Xavier.
