She was predeceased by: her parents, William Doherty and Gertrude Doherty; and her husband Jack Stewart. She is survived by: her sister Margaret "Peggy" Rieger (Earl) of Rockville Maryland; and her children, Mary M. Kotson (John) of Helena Montana, Julie S. Logan (Jim) of Harrisonburg Virginia, John D. Stewart (Sherry) of Reston Virginia, Joseph P. Stewart of Elkton Florida, Martin F. Stewart (Lynda) of Springfield Virginia, Stephen G. Stewart (Valeria) of Arlington Virginia, William C. Stewart (Lynnsey) of Boise Idaho and Thomas A. Stewart of Sterling Virginia. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a memorial gift to the Alzheimer's Association.
