He is survived by: his wife Jean Comer Sylvester of Bethesda, Maryland; his children, Kathryn Comer Mays (Alex) of Bethesda, Margaret Comer Sylvester (Geoff) of Los Angeles and Carl L. Sylvester, III (Amy) of Bethesda, Maryland; his grandchildren, Sophia, Regan and Ryan Mays; and his children, Quinlan, Violet Foster, John, William and Sean Sylvester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dr. Sylvester's name to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation.
