He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Widerman Shepherd, Sr. and Mary Owens Shepherd; his significant other Jean H. Shepherd; and his sister Mary Ann Kanwisher. He is survived by: his children, Luther W. "Skip" Shepherd, III (Lorri) and Susan S. Palmer (Rex); his grandchildren, Dana, Bradley Shepherd, Gregory and Kevin Palmer; and his great grandchildren, Sloane Jean and Isabel Shepherd. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
