He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Joseph McCarty Sr. and Helen McCarty (McKeone); his wife Dolores McCarty; his daughter Mary Adams; and his siblings, Helen Ellis, James, John, Daniel and Joseph.

He is survived by: his children, Michael McCarty (JoAnne), Larry McCarty (Cindy), Sharon Morrone (Patrick Morrone), Janine Fortes (Tom Fortes), Edward McCarty (Kelly), Thomas McCarty and Nancy Corle (Dennis Corle); and his siblings, Marie Ellis and Patrick McCarty. He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
