He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughters, DeBra Edwards, Sandra Jackson and Tricia Hairston; his sister Sarah Jane Dodson; his sons-in-law, George Edwards, Jr., Thomas Jackson, Sr., Gregory Snowden, Sr. and Joseph Hairston; his grandchildren, Chelsea Snowden, Amaya Hairston, Darin Dodson of George Edwards, III, Brian Edwards, Thomas Jackson, Jr., Brandon Jackson, Victor Jackson and Gregory Snowden, Jr.; his sisters-in-law, Delores Dodson and Barbara Dodson; his wife Gertrude Dodson; and his children, Phillip Dodson and Donna Snowden.
