She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernst Schmitt and Johanna Schmitt; and her husband Kenneth. She is survived by: her children, Charles Hartley (Margie), Mark Hartley (Mary) and Teresa Hartley; her grandchildren, Randy Hawkins (Kara), Charles Hartley Jr., Christina DiSilvestre, Sarah Hughes (Bill), Lisa Hughes, Michael Mapes (Kaitlyn), Stephanie Hughes and Joshua Mapes; her great grandchildren, Woodrow, Cooper, Zachary, Lailah, Jordan and Jaxson; her sister Wilhelmina; her children, Heidi Hawkins (Randy), Mary Lorraine Mapes and Michael Hartley; and her granddaughter Christen Hawkins.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home (4400 Powder Mill Rd, Beltsville, MD 20705).
