She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Ober and Ida Ober; her foster mother Laura Bechee (Ralph); her daughter Valerie Jean Brokus; her grandson Timothy Edward Brokus; her siblings, Harry Ober, George Ober and Georgia Haught; and her foster sister Carolyn Nichols (Bruce).

She is survived by: her husband James John Brokus, Sr.; her sons, James John Brokus, Jr. (Tammy) and Michael Joseph Brokus (Donna); her grandchildren, James John Brokus, III, Robert Lee Brokus, Ryan Joseph Brokus, Christopher Joseph Brokus, Veronica Lynn Brokus and Ashley Duchnowski; her brother James Ober; her foster siblings, James Bechee (Andrea) and Alice Hrehocik (Eric); and her friends, Alice Edwards and Adele Davis. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
