He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mahoney and Norma Mahoney (Bennett); his siblings, Shawn, Shane, Craig Mahoney and Kellie Douglas; and his uncles, William and Gerald Mahoney.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Mahoney (Clark); his daughters, Shannan Mae Mahoney and Shaun Jean Mahoney McFadden; his son-in-law Leo McFadden Jr.; his sisters, Pana MacConnell and Danette Ekle; his siblings-in-law, Linda Pokorny, Joyce Boyd, Karen Moakler, Gordon Clark and Alan Clark Sr.; and his aunt Loretta Derushia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
