He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannette Bongardt; his parents, Dr. Henry Bongardt and Marion Bongardt; and his brothers, Dr. Henry Bongardt, Jr. and Robert Bongardt.
He is survived by: his children, James Bongardt, Jr. (Carol), Charles Bongardt (Donna Sue) and Susan Horn (Gordon Horn); his grandchildren, Andrew and Megan Bongardt; and his sons, Nicholas Horn, Alexander and Coleman Bongardt.
