He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Bernardo and Phyrn Anne Alaimo (Jones); his sister Rosaria Surdel; and his brothers-in-law, John (Jack) and Michael Duvall.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Alaimo; his children, Bernardo John Alaimo, Jr. (Angela) and Gina Townsend (Maxx); his grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Natalie, Evan and Gianna; his nephew Phillip Surdel; his great-nieces, Hannah and Estella; his niece AnnaMarie Lane (Bryan); his parents-in-law, Gilbert, Sr. and Emma Shelsby; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Duvall and George Prell (Jo).
