He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Bennett and Hazel Bennett Sr. (Gaither); his parents-in-law, Wilmer and Frances Sweitzer (Gilpin); his daughter-in-law Diana Bennett; his siblings, Billy Bennett, Ronald Bennett and Shirley Baker; his siblings-in-law, Ralph "Gene" Liller and Eleanor Bennett; his nephews, Randy Courtney and Steve Courtney; and his close friend Margie Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Laree Bennett (Sweitzer); his children, Kimberly "Dib" Bennett of Barton and Gary Harrison Bennett (Amy) of Ellerslie; his granddaughters, Sydney Bennett (Bobby) of Lexington Park, Olivia Bennett of Frostburg and Sadie Bennett of Barton; his stepgrandsons, Aaron, Cayleb, Keygan and Landon Broadwater; his sister Emma Courtney (Doug) of Keyser, WV; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Liller (Sweitzer) of Oakland, John "Jack" Baker of Midland and Lois Bennett of Lonaconing.
