He was predeceased by: his parents, Zusya-Leyba Israilevich and Matlya Mordukhova. He is survived by: his children, Gennady Chernyavsky (Liliya) and Marina Prokopenko (Sergey); his brother Mark Chernyavsky (Lidiya); his grandchildren, Oleg Prokopenko, Alex Prokopenko and Yekatrina Schumer (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Olivia and Ayva.
