He was predeceased by: his parents, John H Muhly and Doris Via Muhly; and his son John Davis Muhly. He is survived by: his children, Daniel K Muhly (Jamie), Jeremiah C Muhly (Ramsay) and H. Ramsay McWhirter (Cameron); his sister Mary Elizabeth Wetzig (John); his grandchildren, D. Davis Muhly (Stacy), Abigail M. Staton (Huw), Willam J. "Liam" Muhly, J. Thomas Muhly, Blythe McWhirter, Devan Muhly and Finn McWhirter; and his great grandchild Harper Jane Staton.
