He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Marshall; his wife Marie "Della" Mitchell; his daughter Belinda Mitchell-Johns; his father James Marshall Sr.; his sister Lila Matthews; and his brother-in-law James Bradsher.
He is survived by: his daughter Alterneese Wilson; his siblings, Freddie Bradsher, Rita Staley and Nathaniel Davis; his siblings-in-law, Joe Staley, Niecy and Trina; and his grandchildren, Tyrell Wilson, Paul Foxx, Jumanah Giles, Kuran Giles, Wayne Giles and Darryl Lomax. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.
