He was predeceased by: his parent Helena Sr. He is survived by: his parent James Armstrong, Sr.; his children, James Armstrong, III and Tina Elder (Daniel); and his cousin Jimmy "Porky" Abell. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
