He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Haltiwanger and Dennie Haltiwanger. He is survived by: his partner Michael T. Natchuras; his siblings, Sherri H. Golden and Wayne A. Haltiwanger; his siblings-in-law, Mary F. Carpenter (Paul) and Mark S. Natchuras (Kathy); and his nieces and nephews, Spencer Golden, Tyler Golden, Alexander Carpenter, Breann Carpenter and Colin Carpenter. He is also survived by cousins and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers or other remembrance, contributions in David's name may be made to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, Psychology Department.
