She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Jobie Gause and Etta Mae Gause; and her siblings, Henry, Jobie, James, Ben and Jacqueline.
She is survived by: her husband Clyde G. Barnes Jr.; and her children, James Gaskins, Claude Barnes Sr., Angela Smith (Clayton), Regina Barnes, Deborah and Wendy Smith. She is also survived by four grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, nineteen great great-grandchildren.
