With solemn reverence, we commemorate Callene Sye of Baltimore, Maryland, born in Chester, South Carolina, whose life came to an end on February 21, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Washington and Gertrude Washington; her children, Barbara, Melvin, Lawrence Sr., Arnold and William Sr.; and her siblings, Eugene, Thomas Jr., Andrew, Elizabeth, Maurice and James.
She is survived by: her children, Clarence Jr., Brenda McCrae, Sherry Tolson and Sheila Redd; her sister Shirley Washington; and her children-in-law, Alfred Tolson, Jo An Sye and Rose Sye. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandsons, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of other relatives.
A wake will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Joseph H. Brown Funeral Home (2140 N Fulton Ave, Baltimore, MD 21217). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
