He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Olive Howard (Lee); his children, Leslie Grimes (Lynn), Peter Howard (Carmen) and Russell Howard; his grandchildren, Jonathan Grimes, Eric Grimes, Rachel Grimes (James Ellenberg), Alexander Howard, Andrew Howard and Brandon Howard; and his great grandchildren, Erica Grimes, Benson Grimes and Luke Ellenberg.
