It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maryann D. Bates of Arnold, Maryland, born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Chronowski and Trudy Chronowski; and her grandson Samuel Welling. She is survived by: her children, Amanda Lynn (Scott Welling) and Blaine Robert (Penelope Santos Bates); her husband Blaine Robert Bates II; her children, Benjamin and Lily; and her grandchildren, Baylee and Wynne.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of The Chesapeake or The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.
