It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Jean Bassford in Arnold, Maryland, born in Annapolis, Maryland, who passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emery Owens and Ellen Owens (Taylor); her former husband Charles Lewis; her sisters, Joyce and Doris Lee; her stepson John; and her grandchildren, Alyssa, Nick and Justin.
She is survived by: her husband James Bassford Sr. of Arnold; her children, Charles Lewis (Sheila) of Mount Airy and Rebecca Crane of Arnold; her stepchildren, Michael Bassford, James Bassford Jr. (Patricia), Shirley Newfrock (Robert) and Barbara Wood (Walter); and her cousin Jean Hott of Millersville. She is also survived by many step-granchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care (814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401). A committal service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:50 AM at the same location.
