With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Matthiesen of Arbutus, Maryland, who passed away on October 15, 2021 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Katherine. He is survived by: his daughters, Lynne Crehan (Glenn) of Everett, PA and Nancy Grimm (Jim) of Grantsville, MD; his granddaughter Anna Matthiesen Schauss (Philip); his great grandchild Oscar of Ridgewood, NY; and his grandson Joe of Baltimore, MD.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In pre-COVID days, Joe enjoyed socializing with his friends at the Lodge or the Legion, bingo at Deer Park VFD on Saturday nights, cash and gun bashes wherever they were, and shuffleboard at the Elks Lodge on Tuesday nights.
