He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Thomas; his children, Gilbert Thomas, Jr., Jerry L. Thomas (Rhonda), Charles R. Thomas (Sherrie), Stevie M. Thomas (Maria), Terry E. Thomas (Crystal), Lisa Cole and Sheila McCoy; his siblings, Eloise Chisley and Jimmy Thomas; and his nephew Gerald Hammond (Darlene). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
