He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brooks and Louise Brooks (Contee); his son Michael Brooks; and his siblings, Robert Brooks, Ernest Brooks, Chester Field Brooks, William Brooks (Booty Green) and Marion Hayslett.
He is survived by: his sons, George Brooks, Jr., Ronald Brooks and Donald Brooks; his sister Elizabeth Tolson; his siblings-in-law, Berline Brooks, Alice Wright and Calvin Hayslett; and his grandchildren, George Brooks, III (Trae), Jamal Duckett (Robbie), Jonathan Brooks, Michel Brooks, Donald Brooks, Jr., Brelyn Brooks and Kayla Brooks. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
