He is survived by: his spouse Barbara; his children, David (Sarah) of Cypress, Jonathan (Perry) of Vienna and Julia (Patrick Connelly) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Caleb, Joelle, Jada, Ethan, Seth, Abigail, Rachel, Amelia, Sam, Eli and Ezra; and his brothers, David Shoemaker (Rhonda) of Lake Worth and Thomas Shoemaker (Susan) of Ellicott City. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercy Fund of EP Church, or to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
