He was predeceased by: his son Chip. He is survived by: his wife Marlene Emma; his children, Terry Heidler (Mickey), Cindy Monaghan (Mike) and Laurie Duke (Mark); and his great grandchildren, Madison and Brooklyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Annapolis (a no-kill shelter) or Guide Dogs for the Blind because of his special love for animals.
