He is survived by: his spouse Elfriede Boyle Alvey; his daughter Christine Alvey of Annapolis; his stepchildren, John (Julie) of Severna Park, P. J. and Carol (Scott) of Memphis, TN; and his stepgrandchildren, Steven, Jamison, Peter, Caroline, Kendall and Blake.

In honor of Mr. Alvey donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
