He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Ransom Roane and Mattie L. Roane; and his sons, Justin Carson Roane and Donald Cornelius Roane, II. He is survived by: his children, Shirley Bennett, Ransom Brooks (Gigi Roane) and Philip R. Roane III (Pablo); his brother Philip Ransom Roane, II; and his grandchildren, Michelle Edwards, Cheryl Edwards and Korie Roane. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Kunta Kinte Foundation or the Rotary Club of Annapolis in Dr. Roane's memory.
